Clause Term:
These are not enforced by Pokemon Shadow League. These clauses are optional during battles on this forum. Gym rules and Tournament rules may differ so please check the individual board rules to see which clauses apply.
Main Clauses
These clauses are the main clauses used in battles, When a member says all clauses apply they will most likely mean major clauses.
Species Clause:
Either player may use more then one of the same pokemon, for example, 2 or more skarmories would be illegal if this clause is in play.
Sexplosion Clause:
Moves such as Explosion and Selfdestruct cannot be used if the pokemon that is using that move is your last pokemon. For example, dont go kamikaze with azelf as your last pokemon in an attempt to make a draw against a bliss.
Sleep Clause :
No more than one pokemon can be asleep on both sides at the same time. Moves such as rest that self-induce sleep do not count. For example, when you're using breloom, out comes gyarados, you spore, they switch, spores a no-go for the second pokemon.
Evasion clause:
Moves that raise evasiveness cannot be used. These are moves like Double Team and Minimize. Items and abilities that raise evasiveness can still be used such as Sand Veil and Brightpowder.
OHKO Clause:
Moves that cause a OHKO cannot be used. Some moves are Horn Drill, Fissure and Sheer Cold.
Destiny Bond/Perish Song Clause:
The moves Destiny Bond and Perish Song cannot be used on your opponent's last pokemon.
Minor Clauses
These are clauses that aren't usually used but they may sometimes get used. Both players must agree on minor clauses.
Legendary Clause:
No more than two legendary pokemon per team. During Uber battles this clause is Void.
Item Clause:
No pokemon can hold the same item as another pokemon in your party. Therefore you cannot have two focus sashes, two choice scarfs, or two choice bands. This became a minor clause due to the ever-popular leftovers becomming more used, if this clause is made, there are NO EXCEPTIONS, if you want unlimited leftovers, then dont play the item clause, simple.
Status Clause:
Moves that induce status conditions cannot be used. This means no thunder wave, toxic or willowisp moves.
Damage specific Clause:
The moves dragon rage and sonicboom cannot be used. Very, very rarely used, Only really used in battles with Lv1 pokemon etc.
Berry Clause: Players cannot equip more than 1 berry on their team.
Hope ya understand the clauses ;D
